Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates is seeking a part-time CAD Modeling Intern to support the Flight Dynamics Research Facility at NASA Langley. The role focuses on developing free flight and forced oscillation models for rapid prototype fabrication and validation data for trajectory analysis.

You will create CAD models in .igs or .stp and native formats, design oscillation configurations, and ensure mounting interfaces and a movable center of gravity for wind tunnel models.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Minimum 2 years' CAD experience or 2 CAD course semesters.
• Experience with .igs or .stp and native CAD formats.

Responsibilities

• Develop models in .igs or .stp and native CAD formats.
• Create CAD models for oscillation configurations with mounting references.
• Design geometries for thermal inset fasteners for mounting to balance stings.
• Create CAD solid models of wind tunnel models using rapid prototyping methods.
• Design models to enable movable center of gravity.
