Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc. seeks a part-time CAD Model Design Intern to support the Flight Dynamics Research Facility at NASA Langley. You will develop free flight and forced oscillation CAD models for rapid prototyping and testing.

Responsibilities include creating models in IGS/STP and native CAD formats, detailing mounting interfaces, and enabling movable centers of gravity for wind-tunnel tests. On-site work at NASA Langley is required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or Graduate student in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Minimum 2 years’ CAD modeling experience or 2 semesters CAD coursework.

Responsibilities

• Develop models in .igs or .stp and native CAD formats.
• Create CAD models for oscillation configurations with mounting reference points.
• Design geometry for thermal inset fasteners and accurate mounting to balances.
• Produce CAD solid models for wind tunnel models using FDM 3D printing or similar.
