Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Bench Mechanic on 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 3:30pm–1:30am) in Wells, Maine. You will perform pre-coating operations, masking, post-coating tasks, and minor repairs on coating equipment, with responsibility for quality and TPM.

Strong measuring skills and ability to follow instructions are required. The role offers opportunities to work with engineers to improve processes and to contribute to aerospace engine components in a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0-1+years related experience.
• High School or GED

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-coating operations including surface preparation and masking.
• Perform post coating tasks such as removing parts from fixtures and masking.
• Make minor repairs on coating equipment.
• Deburring, blending, polishing, countersinking, grinding, drilling, or grit blast operations on aerospace engine components.
• Total Preventive Maintenance on applicable machines.
• Check parts meet visual and dimensional requirements with measuring tools.
• Remove burrs, nicks, and scratches on parts from instructions.
• Assist engineers in developing new or changed operations.
• Recommend changes to improve operating parameters.
• Escalate difficulties to leader or supervisor.
