Job summary

RTX, based in Maine, is seeking a Bench Mechanic for the second shift (Monday-Thursday, 3:30pm-1:30am) at the Wells site. You will follow instructions to perform coating and post-coating operations on aerospace engine components, with focus on surface prep, masking, deburring and precision measurement.

Ideal candidates bring 0-1 years of related experience or a post-secondary credential, strong communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to adapt to overtime and multiple priorities in

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0-1+years related experience.
• High School or GED

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-coating operations including surface preparation and masking.
• Perform post coating tasks such as removing parts from fixtures, removing masking, troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctioning equipment.
• Perform deburring, blending, polishing, countersinking, grinding, drilling or grit blast operations on aerospace engine components.
• Check parts to meet visual and dimensional requirements using micrometers, verniers, height gauges and other fixed gauges.
• Assist engineers and others in developing new or changed operations.
• Making recommendations for changing and improving operating parameters and processes.
• Flexibility around shifts, including overtime, to maintain workflow.
