Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a world leader in aircraft engines, is seeking candidates for a 2nd shift Certified Operator role in North Berwick, ME. The position involves on-the-job training to gain operator certification, with 4x10 hour shifts from 4 PM to 2 AM.

Selected employees will learn to perform routine assembly, verify quality with precision instruments, and maintain machines through TPM, while collaborating with engineers and QA to resolve issues and support part process development.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
• Ability to perform decimal and fractional calculations; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine assembly operations on large sections of engine designs and similar assemblies.
• Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator certification to accept/reject parts.
• Maintain machines by performing total preventive maintenance (TPM).
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel to resolve assembly problems.
