Job summary

RTX in Wells, Maine is seeking a Bench Mechanic for the weekend shift (Fri–Sun, 3x12). Work 36 hours and get paid for 40; hours typically 6:00 am–6:30 pm.

You will perform pre-coating operations including surface preparation and masking on aerospace engine components, under supervision. Responsibilities include post coating tasks, deburring and polishing, and using precise measuring instruments to verify parts meet specs.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0-1+years related experience.
• High School or GED

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-coating operations from verbal, written or computer-generated instructions.
• Surface preparation and masking of aerospace engine components.
• Post coating tasks including removing parts from fixtures and masking, troubleshooting, and diagnosing malfunctioning equipment.
• Perform minor repairs on coating equipment and assist engineers in developing new operations.
• Use measuring tools to check parts for visual and dimensional accuracy.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping throughout coating operations.
