Job summary

RTX is seeking a Bench Mechanic on second shift (Mon-Thu, 3:30pm–1:30am) at our Wells, ME facility. You will follow verbal/written instructions to perform pre-coating operations, surface preparation, masking, and post-coating tasks on aerospace engine components.

Responsibilities include deburring, polishing, and machine maintenance, plus using precision measuring tools to ensure quality. Flexibility for overtime and multiple priorities is required.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of related experience or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0-1+ years related experience.
• High School or GED

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-coating operations including surface preparation and masking.
• Perform post coating tasks such as removing parts from fixtures and masking, troubleshooting equipment.
• Perform deburring, blending, polishing, grinding or drilling on aerospace engine components.
• Perform Total Preventive Maintenance on applicable machines/equipment.
• Check parts to meet visual and dimensional requirements using micrometers, verniers, height gauges and other fixed gauges.
