Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick, ME is seeking a Bench Mechanic for 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:30pm-11:30pm) to perform pre-coating operations, surface prep, masking and post-coating tasks on aerospace engine components. Training starts on dayshift for external candidates.

You will deburr, measure parts with precision tools, troubleshoot equipment and support process improvements. Some overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of related experience or a related degree/certificate
• High School or GED
• Experience with metal finishing methods, spray coating/paint, machining, grinding, and/or welding
• Experience with computerized machine operation
• Experience with precision measuring instruments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Flexibility around shifts including overtime
• Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently

Responsabilités

• Perform pre-coating operations from instructions (surface prep and masking)
• Perform post-coating tasks (removing parts from fixtures, removing masking) and troubleshoot equipment
• Deburring, blending, polishing, countersinking, grinding, drilling on aerospace engine components
• Perform Total Preventive Maintenance on machines/equipment
• Check parts meet visual and dimensional requirements using measuring tools
• Assist engineers in developing new or changed operations
• Make recommendations for changing operating parameters and processes
• Refer difficulties to leader or supervisor
