Job summary

RTX is seeking a Bench Mechanic for 2nd shift in Wells, Maine. You will work 3:30pm-11:30pm, performing pre-coating operations, post-coating tasks, and precision measurements on aerospace engine components.

You will engage in troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with engineers to refine processes and improve parameters. Some training may occur on dayshift for external candidates, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0-1+years related experience.
• High School or GED

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-coating operations from verbal, written, or computer-generated instructions, including surface preparation and masking.
• Perform post coating tasks such as removing parts from fixtures, removing masking, troubleshooting, and diagnosing malfunctioning equipment.
• Perform minor repairs on coating equipment including deburring, blending, polishing, countersinking, grinding, drilling or grit blast operations.
• Perform Total Preventive Maintenance on applicable machines/equipment as required.
• Check parts to meet visual and dimensional requirements using measuring equipment; ensure parts meet quality requirements.
• Work from instructions to remove burrs, nicks, and scratches on parts.
• Assist engineers in developing new or changed operations.
• Make recommendations for improving operating parameters and processes.
