Job summary
Janicki Industries, based in Washington State with a Layton, Utah facility, is seeking an Automation Engineer to develop and implement automation improvements in assembly, machining and inspection processes. This onsite role requires leadership capabilities and a background in electromechanical systems.
The position emphasizes project planning, quality adherence, and opportunities to work on complex aerospace and space exploration market components.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering required.
- Experience with programming and coding for electromechanical systems, automation, and software applications.
- Experience with PLCs, drives, embedded computing, electronics, or software development advantageous.
- Experience with SAP ERP advantageous.
- Experience with CATIA and NX or equivalent CAD software advantageous.
- Experience with metal machining, fabrication, or 3-D printing advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Must be willing and able to obtain government issued security clearance.
- Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement improvements to existing automation in mechanical assembly, machining and inspection processes.
- Develops and executes high level and detailed project plans, including managing schedules and budgets.
- Completes and understands all quality requirements for projects.
- Manages project scope and performs risk assessments.
- Identify opportunities for automation within software processes.
- Identify bugs and quality issues in development, service or business processes.
- Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
- Provides after-hours technical support and troubleshooting for automation systems and equipment supporting production.
- Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
