Job summary

Belmont University is seeking a student to support the Advancement Services staff in maintaining an alumni and donor database, handling prospect research, and processing gifts receipts. The role is daytime with flexible hours 8:00 am–4:30 pm, Monday–Friday, offering practical data management experience.

The ideal candidate is detail oriented, able to learn Banner and Excel, strong in written and verbal communication, and available to work over the summer with Federal Work-Study preferred.

Qualifications

  • Detail oriented and self-directed.
  • Ability to learn administrative software program (Banner) and maintain confidentiality of Belmont records.
  • Preferred knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel.
  • Available to work over the summer; FWS Award preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Advancement Services staff.
  • Maintain an accurate database of Belmont University alumni, friends and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with prospect research and the recording and receipting of gifts.
  • Data entry input to update constituent records.
  • Index documents to cloud based storage.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Provide support to the Advancement Services staff.

  • The Office of Advancement Services maintains an accurate database of alumni, friends and other stakeholders of Belmont University.
  • The office is responsible for prospect research and the recording and receipting of gifts.
  • This is a day-time position with flexible hours between 8:00 am-4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
  • This position allows students an opportunity to develop “resume-building” data management skills.
  • Sedentary work. Constantly requires sitting, repetitious finger and wrist movement, speaking clearly.
  • Data entry input to update constituent records
  • Index documents to cloud based storage
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Student must be detail oriented and self-directed, have ability to learn administrative software program (Banner) and maintain confidentiality of Belmont records.
  • Preferred knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel.
  • Also looking for students who are available to work over the summer.
  • Applicants with FWS Award preferred.
Required Education

Must be enrolled as a current student at Belmont University

Required Experience

Must be team-oriented, have strong written, oral communication, and have excellent interpersonal/customer service skills. Must be patient, flexible, attentive to detail, and able to organize and handle multi-tasks in a fast paced environment.
