Job summary

NovaSource is seeking a full-time technician for Hillsboro, TX, to maintain and operate utility-scale PV plants. You will monitor SCADA, commission, test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair AC/DC solar PV systems, including inverters, transformers, and metering systems.

Required: 2+ years in a related role or Journeyman cert; high school diploma; strong electrical/SCADA skills; ability to lift 70 lbs and work in varying temperatures; proficient in CMMS and MS Office; English communication

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience or Journeyman certification.
• Experience with power plant electrical systems, SCADA and controls operation, troubleshooting advanced electrical components, and using procedures to perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college/technical degree preferred.
• Equivalent training in military, utility, or power industry a plus.
• Ability to read Electrical schematics and prints; strong safety background.

Responsibilities

• Monitor PV Plant operation through SCADA, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying AC/DC solar PV systems.
• Assist in maintenance tasks, commissioning, and quality inspections.
• Support on-site projects, installations, commissioning, and performance testing.
• Ensure work orders are complete with documentation and reports filed.
• Promote safety and environmental procedures and adhere to LOTO and JHA requirements.
