Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist - Advanced (RRT) to provide expert respiratory care and support department projects. The role acts as a resource to CRT staff, guiding care plans and participating in change management.

The ideal candidate will be an RRT with NBRC approval, current state licensure, and advanced credentials. BLS required; PALS/ACLS/NRP may be required for specific shifts and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a NBRC approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT).
• Maintain an advanced credential as approved by leadership and HR.
• Current license for Respiratory Therapy in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Specific certifications as required (PALS, ACLS, NRP).
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory care procedures in response to patient needs and physician orders.
• Assesses cardiopulmonary status through exams, history, and therapy responses.
• Independently performs most procedures and participates in program initiatives.
• Mentor and represent Respiratory Care Services in projects and protocols.
• Troubleshoots and maintains respiratory and diagnostic equipment.
• Keeps timely records to satisfy hospital and legal requirements.
• May float to other departments or be placed on-call as needed.
