Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Medical Oncology Group in Pensacola, FL seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support daily operations, compounding, and medication dispensing. The role involves inventory management, sterile/non-sterile preparation, and ensuring automated dispensing systems run smoothly.

Responsibilities include triaging calls, communicating with patients and healthcare professionals, and maintaining compliance with licensure requirements.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Tech credential from PTCB obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Registered Pharmacy Tech credential from the Florida Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Education requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of cumulative experience, an Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Preparing orders and managing inventory for the department; receiving and storing supplies.
• Preparing sterile and non-sterile compounds and repackaging bulk medications for dispensing.
• Maintaining and refilling automated dispensing systems to ensure reliable operation.
• Triage calls and serve as liaison between the pharmacy, patients, and other healthcare professionals.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Preparing orders, managing inventory levels for the department, and efficiently receiving and storing incoming supplies.
• Apply meticulous attention to detail while preparing sterile and non-sterile compounds and repackaging bulk medications for dispensing.
• Ensure the reliable operation of our automated dispensing systems by expertly refilling and maintaining them.
• Serve as a vital communication link - triage incoming calls, provide essential information, and act as a professional liaison between the pharmacy, patients, and other healthcare professionals.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• One or more of the following required:
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Florida Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

What Additional Preferences We're Seeking

• IV chemotherapy compounding experience.
