Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacist in preparing medications and managing the pharmacy workflow.

You will handle hazardous and non-hazardous medications, assist with inventory, triage calls, and support discharge services.

Requires PTCB or Florida Board registration and education as listed.

Qualifications

  • Pharmacy technician credentials required (PTCB or Florida Board) before hire or transfer.
  • Education requirements include HS diploma/equivalency with experience or an associate/technical degree or substantial related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare medications for patient delivery, including hazardous and non-hazardous drugs.
  • Assist with pharmacy logistics, inventory management and dispensing systems.
  • Support care team with distributive pharmacy services and pharmacist assistance.
  • Triaged calls and relayed information between pharmacy, patients, and health professionals.
  • Support Meds2Beds discharge service and home delivery programs.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

  • Perform essential technical services for the Pharmacist, including the accurate preparation of hazardous and non-hazardous medications for patient delivery.
  • Manage and optimize pharmacy logistics, including maintaining automated dispensing systems, preparing orders, and ensuring an efficient, accurate inventory of supplies.
  • Support the care team by providing key distributive pharmacy services and technical assistance for the Pharmacist.
  • Serve as a primary communication liaison by triaging incoming calls and relaying essential information between the pharmacy, patients, and other health professionals to facilitate coordinated care.
  • Facilitate the Meds2Beds Discharge Service and home delivery programs, maintaining a direct liaison between providers and patients to improve medication turnaround times.
What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • One or more of the following required:
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Florida Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
