Job summary

GAF is hiring a Multicraft Technician II to perform advanced maintenance in a high‑production manufacturing environment. You will diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical systems, read blueprints, and use meters and shop equipment to keep equipment uptime high.

The role requires 3+ years in industrial maintenance, knowledge of 480V controls, and experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix. Overtime and weekend work may be needed; 5S safety practices are emphasized.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required; an Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Experience with mechanical power trains, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Knowledge of 480V systems and control wiring; multimeter proficiency.
• Experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix/RSLogix 5000 is a definite plus.
• Ability to operate a manual milling machine and lathe.
• Welding experience including MIG and Rod.
• Able to read blueprints, manuals, and instructions.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced maintenance support and preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot drives, conveyors, and mechanical systems in a high production line.
• Document work in Maximo; close out work orders.
• Perform root-cause analysis on equipment failures.
• Read blueprints and use meters and tools to complete tasks.
• Maintain safety, quality, and cost targets; support 5S initiatives.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to optimize plant performance.
