Job summary

Special Order Systems, Inc. seeks a field telecom technician to install, repair and maintain telecommunications hardware and networking equipment across California, including tablets and related devices. The role requires travel and on-site support for customers in correctional facilities.

You will install and troubleshoot phones, kiosks, video terminals, and WAPs, while ensuring inventories are accurate and procedures are followed. Strong knowledge of VOIP and networking is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years of installation/maintenance of telecom and networking devices.
• Experience with Windows OS, VOIP, Adtran Fortinet, Cisco IOS.
• Telephony wiring and terminations (CAT3/CAT5).
• Knowledge of cabling standards (CAT3/5/6).
• Preferred: Microsoft and Cisco certifications.

Responsibilities

• Travel throughout California to install, repair, and maintain telecom hardware and networking equipment.
• Install and maintain phones, kiosks, tablets, and related equipment in facilities.
• Provide operations support for site surveys and sales conferences.
• Troubleshoot issues across multiple departments and communicate with dispatchers.
• Educate customers on Securus products and provide training as needed.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and tools and manage assets.
