Job summary

Special Order Systems Inc. seeks an on-site Field Technician to install, repair, and maintain telecom and networking gear across California. You will travel to client sites, assist with site surveys, and support customers with training and troubleshooting.

Strong multitasking, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, with a HS diploma or GED required. Role includes inventory management, equity with dispatchers, and potential overnight travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years of installation, repair and maintenance of telecom and networking devices.
• Experience with Windows OS, VOIP, Adtran, Fortinet, AOS and Cisco IOS.
• Telephony experience including pulling cables and terminations.
• Experience with network cabling standards and T1/CO issues.
• Preferred Cisco certifications or equivalents are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, program and maintain telecom and networking devices.
• Travel throughout California to customer sites, including overnight stays.
• Provide training and troubleshooting support to customers and dispatchers.
• Maintain inventories and assets; prepare reports and documentation.
• Assist with site surveys, pre-bid meetings, and sales conferences.
