Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an ED Tech Advanced to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or healthcare professional. The role performs a range of patient care tasks, including vital signs, wound care, IV-related duties and transport on monitor, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma or GED, and an AEMT credential is preferred; 1 year of related experience is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience as an LPN, ED Tech, or Advanced EMT required.
• AEMT certification preferred; required if employed in SC state.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care and tasks under RN guidance.
• Performs ED Tech Advanced duties including IV insertion, IV removal and IV site care, Foley catheter placement.
• Completes patient rounding and 1:1 safety companion services as needed.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse and reports changes.
