Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an ED Tech Advanced to provide direct patient care under RN supervision at West Hospital. You will assist with vitals, mobility, wound care, and laboratory tasks while supporting patient safety and communication.

Required is a high school diploma or GED with 1 year of ED tech/EMT experience; AEMT program is preferred. BLS is preferred and may be required by state regulations. The role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as an LPN, ED Tech, or Advanced EMT (required).
• Successful completion of an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) program preferred.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred; must obtain prior to direct patient care; required if employed in SC.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including care and comfort, vitals, hygiene, and mobility support.
• Performs ED Tech Advanced tasks including colostomy care, IV insertion and site care, Foley placement, and transport on monitor under RN guidance.
• Completes patient rounding and provides 1:1 patient safety as needed.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse and documents progress accurately.
• Maintains high level customer service and supports quality/safety improvements.
