Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an ED Tech Advanced at Queen City Medical Center to provide direct patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse or designated healthcare professional. Responsibilities include vital signs, lab draws, ECGs, wound and colostomy care, IV insertion, and patient transport, with emphasis on safety and accuracy.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of ED tech/EMT experience; AEMT certification is preferred and BLS may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Advanced EMT (AEMT) completion preferred.
• 1 year ED Tech/LPN/AEMT experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN guidance and document care accurately.
• Assist with labs, ECGs, wound care, vital signs, and patient safety.
• Perform advanced tasks per state guidelines (IV care, colostomy, catheter care).
• Maintain communication with the nurse, report changes, and ensure comfort.
• Assist with patient transport, rounding, and crisis response as needed.
• Support quality and safety improvements in care delivery.
