Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking an ED Tech Advanced at West Hospital to deliver direct patient care under RN supervision in a fast-paced ED setting. You will perform routine clinical tasks, monitor patients, and assist with procedures while ensuring safety and quality of care.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of ED/EMT experience. Preferred AEMT/BLS credentials and strong teamwork and communication are essential to success.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as an LPN, ED Tech, or Advanced EMT is required.
• BLS Basic Life Support is preferred on hire or must be obtained prior to direct patient care; AEMT certification is preferred or required if employed in SC per state rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN guidance.
• Perform ED Tech Advanced duties including colostomy care, IV insertion and site care, transport on monitor, and CPR initiation.
• Complete patient rounding and 1:1 safety companion as needed.
• Report changes to the nurse and document care accurately.
• Demonstrate customer service and effective communication with patients, families, and staff.
• Maintain policies, participate in handoffs, and support quality and safety improvements.
