Job summary

Pep Boys in Farragut, TN is seeking a Technician to professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and co-workers, and stay updated with rapidly changing automotive technology.

The role requires at least 1 year of hands-on automotive repair, a high school diploma or GED, and ASE certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension, A5 Brakes).
• 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications – brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment.
• Perform all duties of lower roles (Mechanic and General Service Technician).
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals as required.
• Continuously learn new technical information in formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to company safety and environmental rules.
