Job summary

Pep Boys in Memphis, TN is seeking an Automotive Technician to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain diagnoses to customers and coworkers, continue learning new techniques, and mentor others as needed.

The role requires at least 1 year of diagnostic and repair experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• High level of motivation, energy and a customer-focused attitude.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment systems.
• Perform maintenance services as required.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and coworkers.
• Continuously learn new technical information through training to stay up-to-date with automotive technology.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and safe shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety and environmental rules.
