Job summary
The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack LLC in Farragut, TN is seeking a General Service Technician with a strong mechanical aptitude to perform basic automotive services including mounting and balancing tires, oil changes, vehicle inspections and related tasks while delivering excellent customer service.
You will maintain a clean, safe work area, assist other technicians, and may advise customers on services recommended for their vehicle.
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or GED required. Willingness to learn and grow as a technician.
- Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
Responsibilities
- Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling and electrical.
- Continuously learn new technical information in formal training sessions.
- Change engine oil and filter.
- Install and perform tire maintenance.
- Install batteries and check starting/charging systems.
- Install headlights and other small bulbs.
- Repair flat tires.
- Stock and unload tires.
- Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
- Keep management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop and adhere to safety rules.
