Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an exceptional customer experience. You'll explain technical diagnoses to customers and coworkers and stay current with rapidly evolving automotive technology.

The role also includes training and mentoring teammates and keeping the workspace safe and organized. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of hands-on automotive repair experience, ASE certifications, a valid

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension; A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment per specifications.
• Perform duties of lower positions (Mechanic and General Service Technician).
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals when required.
• Continuously learn new technical information through formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and safe shop environment.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules.
