Job summary

Pep Boys in Birmingham, AL seeks a Technician to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services, while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses and repairs to customers and coworkers, and continuously learn new automotive techniques to stay current.

A successful candidate will have at least 1 year of repair experience, a High School Diploma or GED, ASE certifications (A4/A5) preferred, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnosis/repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment systems.
• Perform maintenance services according to specifications.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and coworkers.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques in training.
• Assist other technicians and keep the shop organized and safe.
• Notify management of repair issues as they arise.
