Job summary

Pep Boys Inc in Memphis, TN seeks a skilled Technician to professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses to customers and coworkers and stay updated with rapidly changing automotive technology.

The role involves mentoring teammates, maintaining a clean, safe shop, and adhering to all policies. A High School Diploma, 1 year of experience, ASE certifications preferred, and a valid

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension, A5 Brakes).
• 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license and successful background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications — brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment.
• Perform duties of all lower technician roles as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including customers.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management aware of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety and environmental rules.
