Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking a Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

The role requires diagnosing and repairing multiple systems, mentoring teammates, and maintaining a clean, safe shop. The candidate should have at least 1 year of automotive repair experience and ASE/609 certifications preferred, with flexibility to work various shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year automotive diagnostic/repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes).
• 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brakes, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment per specifications.
• Perform duties at level of Mechanic and General Service Technician.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
• Continuously learn new automotive technology in formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in technical activities.
• Inform store management of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to company policies, safety, and environmental rules.
