Job summary

Texas Department of Family and Protective Services seeks a CPS Adoption Preparation Worker to recruit and prepare foster/adoptive homes, and to support families dealing with separation and placement with children in need.

The role involves field work in a mobile unit, maintaining case documentation, and collaborating with caseworkers, providers, and courts. Travel up to 60%–85% is expected; a Bachelor's or higher in a related field is preferred with related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field or 60 credit hours plus two years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in social, human, or protective services is desirable.
• Ability to travel up to 85% and work in mobile/field settings.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, trains, licenses, and develops foster and adoptive families.
• Assists in recruiting and placement of children with prospective families.
• Maintains documentation and works with caseworkers and community partners.
• Provides services during non-standard hours to ensure 24-hour coverage.
