Job summary

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is seeking a CPS CVS Spec I in Odessa, TX. This role supports permanent planning for abused or neglected children, recruiting foster/adoptive homes and coordinating placements.

Travel up to 60% and a focus on collaborative teamwork are essential. Ideal candidates have a degree or equivalent experience and are ready to engage in ongoing professional development and cross-agency coordination within Region 9.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or two years of relevant work experience.
• 60 credits plus two years relevant work experience.
• 90 credits plus one year relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, identifies and matches children with prospective adoptive families and provides services.
• Recruits, trains, licenses and develops foster and adoptive families.
• Maintains documentation to provide complete written records.
• Builds relationships within the program and community groups to achieve agency objectives.
• Assesses current life situations to determine child abuse/neglect.
• Provides after-hours and weekend services to maintain coverage.
• Promotes respect for cultural diversity and attends work regularly.
