Job summary

Department of Family and Protective Services in Houston, TX seeks a CPS CVS Specialist IV to recruit and place children with foster/adoptive families. You will train, license and develop foster homes while maintaining thorough casework and interagency collaboration.

This role requires strong knowledge of child placement, the ability to travel up to 60% and to work in a mobile environment, with salary commensurate to state pay scales and extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field as required by screening criteria.
• Experience in social, human, or protective services is considered.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, identifies and matches children with prospective adoptive families.
• Recruits, trains, completes studies, licenses and develops foster/adoptive families.
• Maintains case documentation and written records for each file.
• Builds relationships within the program and community to reach agency goals.
• Assesses life situations to determine child abuse/neglect presence.
• Provides services after hours to ensure 24-hour coverage.
• Promotes respect for diversity among coworkers and contacts.
