Job summary

Guidelight Health in Maryland seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to support adolescents in PHP/IOP programs. Working under licensed clinicians, the BHT provides direct client support, facilitates psychoeducational groups, and helps maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu.

You will collaborate with therapists and nurses, reinforce treatment concepts, document observations, and assist with crisis de‑escalation and daily living activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience with adolescents in behavioral health settings preferred.
• Strong communication and group facilitation skills.
• Ability to establish professional boundaries with youth.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.
• Successful background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Guidelight-approved psychoeducational and skills-based groups under the direction of licensed clinical staff.
• Deliver structured curriculum to reinforce treatment goals and build practical behavioral health skills.
• Support therapeutic milieu and client engagement.
• Document observations and attendance per guidelines.
• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, prescribers, and other team members to support coordinated client care.
• Provide crisis support and de-escalation as trained.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for adolescents.
