University of Maryland, Baltimore seeks an Administrative Assistant I to provide moderately complex administrative support to the Financial Aid Office. The role requires knowledge of university procedures and the ability to handle multiple tasks with limited supervision.

Under general supervision, the Administrative Assistant provides moderately complex administrative support to the Financial Aid Office. This work requires thorough knowledge of the University and various financial aid programs where assigned and involves moderate participation in the work of the supervisor. Incumbents have responsibility for office operations and function independently, where procedures have been established with moderate consequence of error.

Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience providing administrative support.

General knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to proofread and edit written documents. Skill in various computer software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation programs, Internet, email and calendaring software. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.
Based on the duties of this position, selected candidates are eligible to participate in the Bargaining Unit(Union).
$45,375.00 - $48,780.49 pre-probation, commensurate with education and experience.
