Job summary

The Florida Legislature is seeking an organized administrator to coordinate tasks on a range of matters for the Budget Committee. The role requires filing a Form 1 – Statement of Financial Interests within 30 days of hire, per Florida statutes.

Salary is commensurate with experience; a competitive benefits package is provided. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent administrative experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Administrative experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Responsibilities

  • Performs special assignments, research, and report preparation.
  • Reviews records and reports that require action and recommends solutions or courses of action.
  • Assists supervisor in handling daily administrative duties and acts in matters where authority has been delegated.
  • Prepares confidential correspondence, secures information necessary for preparing replies, and answers telephone inquiries to relieve supervisor from routine assignments.
  • Processes a variety of correspondence, investigates subject matter, and prepares replies.
  • Assists in formulating and recommending programs and policies of the unit; interprets and administers policies.
  • Assists in planning full committee and/or subcommittee meetings and workshops.
  • Responsible for preparing notices, detailed agenda, bill analyses and/or budget notes, and other meeting materials, as well as recording and reporting out meetings.
  • Serves as the official custodian of bills referred to committee.
  • Drafts amendments and bills.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

General Summary

This position coordinates administrative tasks and assignments on a variety of administrative matters.

Pursuant to sections 112.3144 and 112.3145, Florida Statutes, this position is required to electronically file a Form 1 – Statement of Financial Interests with the Florida Commission on Ethics within 30 days of hire.

Minimum Qualifications
