Job summary

Louisiana State Police Troop NOLA is seeking an Administrative Assistant IV to serve as the assistant and aide to the Commander of Troop NOLA. The role demands a professional, organized individual who thrives in a people-centered environment and upholds policy standards. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday.

Compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Three years of administrative services experience are required, with State Civil Service substitution

  • Three years of experience in administrative services.
  • EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

  • Responds to requests for information; may require interpretation of department rules and regulations.
  • Independently composes and types complex, sensitive, non-routine correspondence.
  • Represents the supervisor in matters and may exercise signature authority.
  • Liaises between supervisor and staff members.
  • Assesses issue importance and briefs supervisor.
  • Prepares materials for meetings (agendas, handouts, binders).
  • May attend meetings and transcribe minutes.
  • May type contracts and track them through approval.
  • Monitors expenditures and adheres to budgetary policies.

Job description

The mission of Louisiana State Police Troop NOLA is to strictly regulate and control authorized gaming entities in accordance with the Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB). We are seeking an Administrative Assistant IV to serve as the assistant and aide to the Commander of Troop NOLA.

Job Duties:

As the Administrative Assistant IV, your job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Responds to requests for information; may require interpretation of department rules and regulations.
  • Independently composes and types of correspondence involving complex, sensitive, and non-routine matters.
  • Represent the supervisor in various matters, providing input and possibly exercising signature authority.
  • Serves as the liaison between supervisor and staff members.
  • Assesses importance of issues or conflicts, and briefs supervisor.
  • Complies and types of special reports by selecting relevant information from a variety of sources such as reports, documents, correspondence, electronic files, etc.
  • Prepares materials needed for meetings, such as agendas, handouts, binders, etc.
  • May attend meetings and transcribe minutes.
  • May type contracts, secure appropriate signatures, and track contracts through the approval process.
  • Monitors expenditures and ensures adherence to budgetary commitments in accordance with established policies.
Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment
Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
