MedMark Treatment Centers in the United States is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to guide patients through medically assisted programs and to teach coping strategies for opioid addiction. You will lead group and individual sessions, assess progress, and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and therapists to optimize treatment outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in fields like chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling or related field with practical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of clinical experience (1,820 hours), preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.
• Associate degree with 2 years of clinical experience (3,640 hours), preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.
• Full certification as addictions counselor from a recognized body.
• Positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients.
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records).
• Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsabilités

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate care of assigned patients and present status to treatment team.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans per state requirements.
• Provide clinical services and education on opiate addiction counseling.
• Maintain excellent documentation and computer skills.
• Perform other duties as determined by supervisor.
