Job summary

MedMark Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to support patients through medically assisted treatments and to teach coping strategies for opioid addiction. The role includes individual and group sessions, crisis management, and collaboration with doctors and nurses to achieve positive treatment outcomes.

You will assess progress, coordinate services, and contribute to aftercare planning within our outpatient clinic setting.

Qualifications

• Must have current LSAA, LADAC, LMHC, LMSW, LPCC, LCSW or LMFT.
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment.
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients.
• Conducts individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination.
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Respond, as needed, to patient grievances and complaints.
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans.
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor.
