Job summary

BayMark Health Services is seeking a compassionate Substance Use Counselor to guide patients through medically assisted programs and teach coping strategies for opioid use disorder in a outpatient clinic setting.

The role involves conducting individual and group sessions, developing treatment plans, collaborating with doctors and nurses, and supporting patient progress through crisis management and aftercare planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 1 year of individual counseling experience.
• Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science with a minimum of 1 year of individual counseling experience.
• Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma with a current certification and 1 year of supervision (CAC, CADC, CADC II or MA LADC II).

Responsibilities

• Conducts individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination.
• Facilitates initial treatment plan development and reviews with each patient.
• Completes Bio-psychosocial assessment.
• Provide individual and group counseling services with direct service hours; coordinate services throughout treatment.
• Involve families and significant others in patient’s recovery process when possible.
• Respond to patient grievances and complaints as needed.
• Develop aftercare and discharge plans.
• Other related duties as determined by the supervisor.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree with 1 year counseling experience

Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science with 1 year counseling experience

Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma with current certification (CAC/CADC/CADC II or MA LADC II)
