Job summary

MedMark Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to support patients through medically assisted programs, conducting group and individual sessions, and collaborating with doctors, nurses and therapists for optimal outcomes.

You will assess progress, coordinate care with the treatment team, and help develop and implement treatment plans meeting state regulatory requirements, while maintaining strong documentation and EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• Master’s or higher in relevant field with practical experience.
• Plan required if experience not in drug/alcohol setting.
• 1-year or 2-year clinical experience with degrees as specified.
• Certified addictions counselor by a recognized body.
• Positive, non-judgmental attitude toward patients.

Responsibilities

• Counselor will conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate care of assigned patients and present status with treatment team.
• Develop and implement patient treatment plans per state requirements.
• Provide clinical services and opiate addiction counseling.
• Excellent documentation and computer skills required.
• Other related duties as determined by supervisor.
