Job summary

Kennesaw State University seeks an experienced Workplace Accommodations Specialist to lead the ADA program and coordinate the interactive process for accommodations. You will work with employees, managers, HR partners, Benefits, payroll, and legal counsel to ensure compliant, accessible work environments.

The role requires handling ADA requests, maintaining documentation, and staying current with ADA laws. Strong training and cross‑functional collaboration are essential in this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
• Three (3) years of experience administering the ADAAA employee lifecycle, ADAAA Compliance, Benefits or related experience.
• Experience interpreting federal laws and regulations governing services to people with disabilities including the ADAAA and Sections 504.
• Experience conducting interactive processes and evaluating reasonable accommodations.
• Experience with case management systems or related HR platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create ADA program SOPs, forms, communications and SLAs to ensure compliance.
• Assess ADA accommodation requests ensuring university and legal compliance.
• Facilitate interactive process meetings with employees, managers, HR partners and legal counsel.
• Advise managers on ADA compliance and reasonable accommodations best practices.
• Review medical documentation to determine appropriate accommodations.
• Maintain complete records per ADA regulations and university policies.
• Develop and deliver ADA training for employees and managers.
• Stay current on federal, state and local ADA regulations.
• Support process improvements to manage ADA administration efficiently.
• Assist with complex FMLA or other leave cases as needed.
• Cross-train with Benefits Specialists and cover vacancies.
