Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for inpatient acute care in Winston-Salem. The role involves comprehensive evaluations, treatment planning, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care. 40 hours per week, with schedule Mon-Fri and occasional weekend coverage as needed.

Requirements include NC SLP license, CCC-SLP, and BLS. The position offers benefits and requires licensure in the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center area.

Qualifications

• Current license in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by ASHA (CCC-SLP).
• Current Certification from American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers, CPR and AED.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment through communication, interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
• Performs comprehensive evaluations of patients with communicative, cognitive-linguistic, feeding, and/or swallowing disorders.
• Documents diagnostic findings, recommendations, and charging in the patient’s medical record the same day as evaluation.
• Plans and conducts treatment programs with measurable goals for patients across ages.
• Coordinates with outside resources for continuing care after patient discharge from inpatient rehab.
• Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and in-service education of staff and trainees.
