Job summary

MercyOne Genesis DeWitt Medical Center in eastern Iowa seeks a registered nurse for a .9 FTE night shift (7:00 pm - 7:00 am) on the acute care unit. You will provide direct patient care and collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold an ADN (BSN preferred), Iowa RN license, BLS (ACLS if telemetry), mandatory reporter training within 3 months, strong critical thinking, and basic computer skills; a supportive, mission-driven environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• ACLS required only if telemetry monitoring.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Good language, math, and critical thinking abilities.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient assessment and develop an outcome-based plan of care.
• Implement the plan, coordinate with the healthcare team, and document care.
• Communicate with physicians, patients, and families; ensure discharge planning.
• Maintain telemetry care if applicable and manage patient safety and accuracy.
• Reassess patient status regularly and adjust goals as needed.
• Ensure adherence to policies, safety, and quality standards.
