Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the night shift (7PM-7AM) in Des Moines, Iowa. The role focuses on acute medical and surgical care with telemetry and a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with policy and standards. The position requires an associate degree in nursing, Iowa RN license (or IL if applicable), BLS, and strong critical thinking.

Qualifications

• A nursing degree is required to practice.
• Current Iowa RN license (IL license if working in IL) may be required per unit.
• BLS certification required; ACLS if telemetry is available.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial patient assessment within 30 minutes of admission.
• Develops an outcome-based plan of care and collaborates with the care team.
• Implements the plan, coordinates care, and documents progress.
• Performs ongoing reassessment and updates care plans as needed.
• Maintains clear, complete communication with physicians, patients, and families.
• Demonstrates competency in computer systems and nursing procedures.
• Provides telemetry and cardiac monitoring as applicable.
• Adheres to safety, infection control, and policy requirements.
