Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health in Des Moines is seeking a full-time Acute Care Registered Nurse for a 12-hour night shift. The nurse will provide and direct safe, effective care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions, including telemetry patients.

The role requires an Iowa RN license (Illinois license if working in IL), BLS, and strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills to support discharge planning and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing is required.
• Current Iowa RN license; IL license if working in IL.
• BLS required; ACLS required only if telemetry monitoring is used.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Proficient in communication, math, and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform an initial admission assessment within 30 minutes of arrival.
• Develop an outcome-based plan of care and initiate the patient problem list.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team and coordinate with Case Manager.
• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms as applicable.
• Document and communicate progress and discharge planning details.
