Job summary

UHS in McAllen, TX seeks a Registered Nurse to manage patients with medical or surgical conditions and provide professional nursing leadership. You will assess, plan, guide, and evaluate care while coordinating with the healthcare team.

The role requires TX RN licensure (compact acceptable), BLS, and unit-specific certifications; BSN preferred. Will require flexible shifts including weekends and some on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• Prefer 1 year FT or 3 years PT experience in acute care.
• Texas RN license (or compact license) required.
• BSN preferred.
• Must have BLS.
• ACLS/PALS/ENPC certifications as required by unit.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients admitted or seen for medical or surgical conditions.
• Provide nursing leadership and supervision to the healthcare team.
• Ensure safe, competent nursing care per policies and standards.
• Coordinate with hospital staff and ancillary departments.
• May require weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and/or on-call status.
• Demonstrate Service Excellence in care delivery.
