Job summary

STHS McAllen seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to lead nursing care for patients with medical or surgical needs. You will assess, plan, guide, and evaluate care, providing safety and clinical expertise within facility policies and standards.

The role requires professional leadership, collaboration with the healthcare team, and compliance with the Code of Conduct. Weekend/evening on-call work may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas (compact state acceptable) per state rules.
• BSN preferred; ADN/ diploma acceptable with experience.
• Must maintain BLS and required ARC/AHA certifications.
• 1 year full-time or 3 years part-time experience in acute care.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients admitted or seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures.
• Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
• Assess, plan, guide, and evaluate nursing care per facility policies.
• Oversee nursing staff under their supervision and coordinate with departments.
• Occasional weekends, holidays, evenings, nights or on-call as needed.
