Job summary

BayCare Health System seeks a motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join the Mease Dunedin Hospital acute care rehabilitation team as a Pool/PRN member. You will assist Physical Therapists, deliver evidence-based interventions, and help patients regain mobility and independence in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Required is a PTA license (or licensure within 6 months), an associate degree in physical therapy, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Experience in acute care or hospital settings preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional ADL mobility interventions.
• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes to the supervising therapist.
• Educate patients and families on exercises and techniques to support recovery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, physicians, and occupational therapists.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
