Job summary

BayCare is seeking a motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support the Mease Dunedin Hospital acute care rehabilitation team. The PTA Pool/PRN role will assist Physical Therapists in delivering evidence-based interventions to help patients regain mobility and independence.

Responsibilities include implementing plans, providing therapeutic exercises, documenting progress, and educating patients and families.

• Experience in acute care or hospital setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes to the supervising therapist.
• Educate patients and families on exercises and techniques to support recovery.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and occupational therapists.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Pool/PRN to support our acute care rehabilitation team. In this role, you will assist Physical Therapists in delivering evidence-based interventions that help patients regain mobility, restore function, and achieve their highest level of independence.

Acute Physical Therapist Assistant Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional ADL (Activities of Daily Living) mobility interventions.
• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes to the supervising therapist.
• Educate patients and families on exercises and techniques to support recovery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, physicians, and occupational therapists.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
• Adhere to infection control and hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• Experience in acute care or hospital setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant)
• Or PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) Temporary and licensure within 6 months
• Required Associate's Physical Therapy
• Preferred 1-year Physical Therapy Assistant
