Job summary

BayCare Health System’s Winter Haven Hospital seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join the Acute Care team in a Pool/PRN role. The PTA will support a licensed therapist, deliver therapeutic exercises, and help improve patient mobility during hospitalization.

Qualified candidates will hold PTA licensure with BLS, and ideally have acute care experience in a hospital setting. The role involves collaboration with nurses, physicians and other therapists, with varied shifts and no remote

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional ADL mobility interventions.
• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes to the supervising therapist.
• Educate patients and families on exercises and techniques to support recovery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, physicians, and occupational therapists.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
• Adhere to infection control and hospital policies.

Winter Haven Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Pool/PRN to join our Acute Care team.

The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitative care to patients in an acute hospital setting. This role focuses on improving patient mobility, function, and overall quality of life during hospitalization. Acute Physical Therapist Assistant Pool/PRN Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant)
• Or PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) Temporary and licensure within 6 months
• Required Associate's Physical Therapy
• Preferred 1-year Physical Therapy Assistant
